Teaching Design and Visual Literacy at the K-12 level

Were you taught design in high school? How would schools look and feel if design was a bigger part of the curriculum in K-12 schools? Would students be more motivated to learn? Would schools start to look less like prisons and start looking more like interactive learning centers, movie sets, and theme parks?
Can we transform education through design? In this presentation, design education is suggested as a starting point for transforming learning in art, social studies, science, and technology education. Join the discussion about how design professionals can help teachers lay the foundations for design awareness, knowledge and skills in K-12 schools.
